Installation Diagram

1. Spider
Search for images in 7 ‘categories’ and save to drive and database. As follows:
http://flickr.com/search/advanced/
then select all “Search by content type”
then check “Only search within Creative Commons-licensed photos”
then select “Most interesting”
For example: Rapture

Download largest images, include ‘interestingness’ & all tags associated with image.

2. Database
For each image:
ImageID, category, imagetags, interestingness

3. Image Modifier
- If image is in “x” category, then change colors per formula.
- Make all images into sizes: 800×600, 480×360, 120×90

4. Word Smith
- Take all tags in database and form associations between them.
- Serve a word/tag every “x” seconds, following semantically.

5. Image Generator
Each computer/projector has only one category.
For each category:
- Pull the latest word from the Word Smith.
- Select images from database
- Process images live, similar to these screenshots

6. Sound Generator
Each computer/projector has only one category.
For each category:
- Pull the latest word from the Word Smith.
- Select sounds from database
- Process sounds and display.

Notes:
1. Spider:
- Aprox. 50,000 images. For each category, the top percentile of ‘interestingness’ should be downloaded.
- Each category could include more than one search, eg. ‘dream city’ and ‘utopia’.
- The spider can be run every month or…? This is because there are only about 50 new images per day.
2. Database
- Should be in mysql/php if possible, as this is most convenient for the website also. Or?
3. Image Modifier
- This can be done last. Marek can also just download the images, modify them in photoshop and upload them back… Can also do this once a month for a year.
4. Word Smith
This is based on Martin’s Associagram…
